In addition to fiction, ghost writing, and work as a script editor, since 2006 I’ve worked as a freelance writer for the BFI. As well as ventures like the Colonial Film Database, Screenonline, and BFI Player, I’ve also made major contributions to the following books and DVDs (among others): The projection of Britain, Shadows of Progress, Land of promise, We live in two worlds, The complete Humphrey Jennings and Night mail.
Alongside developing a number of ventures as Asia editor at Lund Humphries, I also co-wrote two excellent poster art books British Aviation Posters and Shell: Art and Advertising.
You can also find essays on history, politics, and propaganda in: The Major Realist Film Theorists, Scientific Governance in Britain, 1914-1979, New Elizabethans: Nation, Culture, and Modernity, The Impact of History? Histories at the Beginning of the 21st Century and Empire and Film.
I also like the work of Len Lye.
